DIABETES WHILE PREGNANT AND THE RISK OF KIDNEY DISEASE IN CHILDREN

When a woman is pregnant, there are several conditions that can strike, one of them is diabetes. Gestational diabetes or diabetes while pregnant is a normal condition that usually will heal by itself when the woman has given birth to. However, although temporary, is a condition of diabetes while pregnant also has big risks, both to the MOM and her baby.

If blood sugar levels while pregnant is not controlled properly, a pregnant women at risk of having diabetes even after childbirth. In addition, the risk of giving birth to a sick child are also great; women with diabetes who cannot be controlled while pregnant may give birth to children with chronic kidney disease.

Research on the relation of both conditions is presented at the meeting of the American Society of Nephrology to 43, where the research it presented results of a study of 4,000 people in chronic kidney disease patients who were diagnosed at the age of 21 years and under, and then his health history compared to 20,000 healthy people in Washington DC as well as all of their mother's health history.

It turns out, the mother who suffers from diabetes while pregnant have likely affected 28 percent of chronic kidney disease, while his mother was already suffering from diabetes before pregnancy even reach 69 percent. It is often associated with abnormal kidney development in fetus due to the condition of the mother. Although the results of this research are still open for further research, this reference should be made to the concerned health and food intake of pregnant women.
